NUTRITION MONTH 2K19
“Health is wealth” this time of year, the whole country
celebrates the Nutrition Month. The reason we celebrate Nutrition Month is to
remind ourselves that being healthy is very important and that if we love
ourselves, we should love our body that is by practicing good healthy habits.
This year’s theme is “Kumain ng Wasto at
Maging Aktibo, Push Natin ‘To!” we Ilocanos understand from our early lectures
from as early as Nursery that eating healthy every day is a great investment
for our future.
If we eat healthy, which means having a balanced
diet, together with regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle, we surely will
get to enjoy our body’s future to the fullest. Who want to be unhealthy when
they’re old anyway?

Choosing nutritious and healthy foods is important. |
Eating right is important to staying at a healthy weight and keeping an energy balance, the balance between the calories in what you eat and drink, and calories you burn when moving. Choose foods like fat-free and low-fat milk, cheese, yogurt, and fortified soy milk to help strengthen bones. Be sure your morning coffee includes fat-free or low-fat milk. Add fruit to meals as part of main or side dishes. Set a goal to fit in at least 2½ hours of moderate physical activity in your week. Being active 10 minutes at a time also adds to your weekly total. Ask your friends or family to keep you company as you bike, jog, walk, or dance. Don’t forget to do some muscle strengthening activities twice a week.
