First Grading: Reflection

Image result for book of wisdom pic instagram\In the first  two and a half months of learning with Ma’am Vera Cruz I learned many things. Specifically in about the history of the internet, who are the people behind the making of the internet and about blogging. I improved my writing skills when I was writing the activities given by our teacher. And it was beneficial to us students because as we all know, writing is one of the basic requirements of a student in school.

Of course there are problems that I encountered in the two and a half month of learning. When we were tasked to post for the first time, I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know what to write in my draft but with the help of my teacher, I was able to handle it myself. She taught us how to write the introduction and the rest of the blog. Another is how hard we manage time. There are many requirements in other subjects and the blogs. But as time passes, we managed to adapt and passed our requirements on time. Time management is one of the most important things in high school life.

To sum it all up, the first grading period was  a lot of fun and I got to interact with my classmates more and I will apply what I have learned in my daily life. I am looking forward to the next grading periods.

   Filipinos are Resilient

The Philippines is one of the countries in the world that is afflicted with almost all kinds of natural calamities all year round. Those calamities include earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, thunderstorms, typhoons, monsoon rains, and hurricanes, to name a few.It is given that the country’s location is unfavorable. All its citizens need to do is to take an initiative to change their bad habits that further makes the results of disasters worse. Well, no amount of words can express how Filipinos look at calamities and disasters at a different perspective. They have accepted that calamities come and go. What matters most is how they make something good out of them. Resilience is a character that Filipinos are very proud of: being hopeful, happy, and positive while experiencing unfavorable and hard situations such as calamities. What makes the situation lighter is despite the tragedies, loss, and negative outcomes of these calamities, Filipinos remain strong, resilient, and jolly. It is innate in their character that they still see something good and funny in every bad situation.

I am glad our government has embraced the concept of building back better. In building back better, we must rebuild communities with the confidence that we are not rebuilding the risks again. We need to ensure that the reconstruction of homes and infrastructure will be on safer ground following geohazard maps and sound construction standards. We need to restart and create livelihoods and restore normalcy to people’s lives with a stronger sense of hope and confidence for the future.

        NUTRITION MONTH                         2K19

“Health is wealth” this time of year, the whole country celebrates the Nutrition Month. The reason we celebrate Nutrition Month is to remind ourselves that being healthy is very important and that if we love ourselves, we should love our body that is by practicing good healthy habits. This year’s theme is  “Kumain ng Wasto at Maging Aktibo, Push Natin ‘To!” we Ilocanos understand from our early lectures from as early as Nursery that eating healthy every day is a great investment for our future.

If we eat healthy, which means having a balanced diet, together with regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle, we surely will get to enjoy our body’s future to the fullest. Who want to be unhealthy when they’re old anyway?

Choosing nutritious and healthy foods is important.

Eating right is important to staying at a healthy weight and keeping an energy balance, the balance between the calories in what you eat and drink, and calories you burn when moving. Choose foods like fat-free and low-fat milk, cheese, yogurt, and fortified soy milk to help strengthen bones. Be sure your morning coffee includes fat-free or low-fat milk. Add fruit to meals as part of main or side dishes. Set a goal to fit in at least 2½ hours of moderate physical activity in your week. Being active 10 minutes at a time also adds to your weekly total. Ask your friends or family to keep you company as you bike, jog, walk, or dance. Don’t forget to do some muscle strengthening activities twice a week.

Knowledge is the Key of Survival

Our country which is the country is along the Pacific Ring of Fire which means that we experience strong trembling earthquakes due to our topographic origin. Because of this, our government decided to conduct a National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) to all levels of school that would help us know what to do when times of disaster like earthquake occur in our nation.

Many students or people are unaware of the “Big One” that might happen anytime and it is believed to be a strong and destructive earthquake that will soon hit a bit part of Luzon. Because of the so called “Big One” the Government of the Philippines conducted the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) that would prepare us for the coming of this strong trembling of our vast lands.

Raising awareness of disaster hazards through public education, encouraging vulnerable people to take preventative and mitigating actions where possible before disaster strikes. Ensure that the Knowledge from prediction and early warning systems can be accessed, understood and acted upon by local communities

RISE AGAIN FILIPINOS

This year theme significantly points to the fact that despite the freedom we enjoy, efforts to achieve positive changes in our society must be sustained for a bright tomorrow. We owe it to the future generation to uphold the liberty that we have gained through the efforts and sacrifices of our late men and women who died for the sake of the freedom of our country, the Philippines. It is a graceful day for us Filipinos where in the Philippines has finally leaded by Filipino and not a Colonial country. It is a day to celebrate that we are free from the abuses of the Spaniards during Spanish Colony.

June 12, 2019 marks the 121st anniversary of the proclamation of the Philippine’s Independence. It commemorates the day in 1898 when Philippine Independence was formally declared on June 12 ,1898 with the proclamation led by the first President of the Philippines General Emilio Aguinaldo. It was the same day, same occasion that the Philippine National Anthem composed by Julian Felipe was first played and the Philippine flag was raised.

I can never thank them enough for the good deeds they’ve done for the future man on this wounded nation. They had a job well-done, in the name of our souls, we salute you our Brave and Peace-loving heroes.
