This grading has been an unforgettable and amazing grading. Many challenges came and we surpassed them, as a class. This grading was amazing and I have enjoyed more. I enjoyed this fourth and last grading with my classmates. In the subject TLE, I have learn many concepts and ideas. Many concepts were taught to us. One of the concepts I learned is the Adobe Photoshop. We were taught how to make and edit in Photoshop.

Our teacher taught us how to use the tools in Photoshop. Our project for this grading is creating our own edit using Photoshop and promoting our school, ISNHS. We were again tasked to post our blogs. I will continue to post in my blog account. I will continue to become a blogger. I will also continue to have the references below my article. I will apply all the concepts our teacher had taught. I will continue to use Photoshop. This grading has been an amazing and good journey.

Great dream begins with a Dreamer

"Live your values, pursue your dreams, and follow your passions". This really implies the true ways we must do to have the best future life we could possibly have.

Over my life time I would like to achieve many things but there are two main things I would like to accomplish; To have a decent job and to make my parents proud. I have been exhilarating by my dream from the day I knew why I came into the world to so far and even in the future, which is making me different from others. It is a goal, an aim, a direction for my life. It is not strange from outside but from inside. It is to be a successful Police officer . With all the sacrifices and eschews that my parents are exerting just to send me in school, I dont have any reasons not to give my best all the time.

I, together with my parents, have a simple means of living; but because of firm determination, strong faith in God, good values and virtues, I assure that we will have the best of life  not because of the luxuries but because of the richness of love, compassion for people and passion for God. These are my dreams, my inspiration which i have to work on for the future.

KANNAWIDAN 2K20:" A Showcase of Culture and Tradition"

Ilocos Sur is a beautiful province located in the northern part of Luzon. It is a province rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. To show and share their treasures to the whole world, the locals conceived a festival that highlights these cultural traditions and they called it the “Kannadiwan Festival”. They call it the KANNAWIDAN Ylocos Festival, it is also a time to commemorate the anniversary of Ilocos Sur as a province since it was separated on February 3, 1818. Kannawidan is a variant of the Ilocano word "tawid" meaning heritage or inheritance.

One mission of the festival is paying more attention to the children. It is because of the observation that many traditions, songs, dances, and other Ilocano culture are not recognized by the younger generations of the province. Instead, children are paying more attention to the modern and novelty dances they see television than the traditional ones. It is one of the reasons why the Kannadiwan Festival is conducted. Here, children may appreciate their rich culture and tradition. Also on the opening day of the festival, a traditional ritual is performed by the students of the Ilocos Sur, especially high school students. There are different contests that focus to the ability and skills of the students. These include traditional tribal rituals, choir and glee club competition, marching band contest, traditional music ensemble, dance drama, traditional and folk dances, contemporary dance competition, and street dancing showdown.

Change Starts with Us

changed life better

"CHANGE FOR THE BETTER"

In my life, I have been exposed to a challenge called change. Change can occur in many different ways and is dealt with in many different ways. I have come to the awareness that change can be the deepest of all things. Changes come about every day of my life. Some of the changes are good, some are bad, and the rest do not affect me in a positive or negative manner. Some of the changes concern my friends, some my family, and other people that are connected to me, but the one thing in my life that has significantly changed each one of these things has been going off primary school to high school.

A few years ago, I decided to change my life for the better. I thought I would write about the changes I decided to make in case others could benefit from it. There were numerous reasons why I wanted to make these life alterations, but the main ones were:

1. I knew I was capable of so much more. I wanted to make an effort to exploit my full potential and accomplish more and I was not doing that.
2. I was not in the best of health. I was too sedentary, I kept late hours, and I drank too much alcohol.
3. My overall lifestyle habits were not conducive towards a healthy and productive life.
4. I wanted to be more mindful and happy and worry less.

In life an individual need to have a plan. One important plan is how one will optimize their health. You can never be fully ready for a life change. That is why one needs to draw up and plan and take baby steps. Once you reach your ultimate goal all the pain, sweat and tears will be a thing of the past.

Viva Vigan Longganisa Festival, Ating Ipagdiriwang

 LONGGANISA

      FESTIVAL 2K20

The Vigan City Fiesta is held every January 25. It is celebrated during the feast day of the conversion of St. Paul the Apostle. St. Paul is Vigan City’s patron saint. Before his conversion, St. Paul was known as Saul, a zealous persecutor of Christians. After he was touched by a personal encounter with Jesus Christ on his way to Damascus, his name was changed to Paul and he endured a lot of hardships and danger to spread the word of God to far places.
Vigan’s main church, the Metropolitan Cathedral is dedicated to St. Paul and it stands at the core of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia. The major Catholic educational institution in Vigan that stands beside the church is also dedicated to the patron, the St. Paul College of Ilocos Sur. The Vigan City Fiesta usually lasts for several days. It includes within the period the celebration of the anniversary of the cityhood of Vigan, which is commemorated every January 27.
Biguenos from all over the country and even abroad return to Vigan, as it is the custom of Filipinos to return to their hometown to join their family and friends in the celebration of their fiesta. They are joined by thousands of visitors from other parts of the Philippines and other countries in enjoying the cultural shows, parades and street dancing prepared by the local government with the help of the local industries and communities. There are also food fairs, arts and crafts exhibits, as well as a visiting carnival.

Participants from the different neighboring provinces in the northern region are also sent to compete in the various games and activities, particularly the street dancing competition. This participation by other municipalities makes the Vigan City Fiesta not only a local event participated in by Vigan’s officials, but a national event participated in by other local public heads and national officials. Within the Vigan City Fiesta days, the Longganisa Festival is also celebrated. The city has a
longganisa-themed parade and at one time attempted to set a record for having the longest longganisa ever made. The festival has become a crowd-drawer as Vigan longganisa, a native version of Mexican salami, has a distinct garlicky taste that has become a favorite of the Filipino palate. Though other manufacturers have tried to copy the Vigan longganisa taste, they have not been successful. Biguenos attribute this to the fact that the making of Vigan longganisa is a centuries-old tradition of the local makers and all if not most of the ingredients used in making the native sausage is sourced from Vigan. Vigan’s garlic and sugarcane vinegar are said to be more strongly flavorful. It’s a great take-home gift after partaking in a Vigan City Fiesta.
